Just under twelve years ago, my husband and I moved to Vermont, fulfilling a dream of many years. We now have a small hill farm, raise much of our own food. I take care of the animals, which include 29 jacob, shetland, and coopworth sheep, heritage breeds of turkeys and chickens, two cats, and a dog. He raises the vegetables and is starting on fruit trees. We came from New Jersey, like a good portion of Vermonters, and love our simplified life, based on sustainability, not acquisition. This blog is a new venture, a place to ponder life, farming, creation, etc., and practically, to speak to many of the issues associated with this new life of ours. I invite your comments.

I just read about you and see that you have shetlands. I have been raising registered shetland sheep here on my family farm since 1999. We currently have 35 shetlands and I need to downsize. Do you need any new shetlands?
